The Martian: Alternate Endings
When his habitat is broken into and destroyed, Astronaut Mark Watney learns that he’s not alone on Mars. Two criminals, Harry Lime & Marv Merchants, have stolen his food supply, and now Mark’s chances for survival seem even lower. As Mark’s crew members find their way back to Mars to rescue him, Mark sets a number of booby traps to stop Harry & Marv from stealing the escape craft, the Ares IV launch vehicle at the crater Schiaparelli.
Having been left on Mars alone, Astronaut Mark Watney uses science to survive the elements, and his quick wits to solve one problem after another. But when he finds an abandoned DeLorean in a Martian cave, Mark’s chances for survival take a whole new turn when he accidentally travels to 2055 instead of the moment he wanted to return to: right before the fateful Martian dust storm that changed his life forever. When Mark crosses paths with his own son, who’s a Martian settler in the year 2055, it takes Doc Brown’s help to make sure the space-time continuum isn’t unraveled, which could destroy the entire universe!
When Astronaut Mark Watney is found by real Martian inhabitants, the aliens lure him out of hiding with the help of Reese’s Pieces, and he makes new friends. Mark teaches them how to use botany to grow their own food, and they show Mark how to have a good time on Mars. But when the Martian government learns about Mark, they trap him and perform experiments on him until he escapes with the help of his Martian friend Elliott and his Kuwahara bicycle, so Mark can get to his Ares IV escape craft.
When dabbling with the Mars Pathfinder he intended to use for communicating with Earth, Astronaut Mark Watney accidentally teleports a potato from Mars to Earth. Abandoned on Mars and longing to return home, this startling discovery could help Mark get back to Earth sooner than he thought. Mark develops and perfects the teleportation tool over many Sols, with the hope of teleporting home. But before he can do so, Mark must prove that he can safely teleport from one location on Mars to another. When a Martian fly enters the teleportation chamber with Mark during his first attempt at teleporting himself, his life takes an unexpected, and horrific turn.
